The club has a busy schedule of events including bridge games, luncheons, reading and film circle activities and various events to support local charities. On Friday, February 10, at 12:30 pm, the General Club of The Haddon Fortnightly invites you to join us for our annual Valentine luncheon with entertainment by husband and wife duo David and Eleanor Shockly, pianist and vocalist. The profits benefit various club projects including scholarships and support for the Vineland Veterans’ Home. Tickets are $12. Call Anne Higbee at 856 751-9196 to reserve your seat. The Haddon Fortnightly is one of seven original charter members of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs still in existence. The luncheon tradition began some years ago as way for widowed and single females in the club to enjoy a special Valentine celebration with a romantic element to brighten up the day. The Haddon Fortnightly cordially invites you to their annual Home and Garden Tour, Friday, May 4, 2012 from 10am to 8pm. The tour will feature beautiful homes and gardens in historic Haddonfield. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the tour and may be purchased at the Visitors Center in Haddonfield. Luncheon, $12, will be served at the Haddon Fortnightly Building located at Kings Highway and Grove St. in Haddonfield. Geraniums will also be for sale. This is a joint venture of the Juniors, the EMD, and the General Club. All proceeds benefit preservation of the historic Haddon Fortnightly Building. For information call 856-858-1199.
