The Haddon Fortnightly - EMD News
February is Heart Month, and the Evening Membership Department of the Haddon Fortnightly will be emphasizing that at their February meeting. The meeting will be on February 14th, the biggest “heart” day of the month. It will take place at the clubhouse on the corner of Kings Highway and Grove Street beginning at 7:30. The speaker for the evening will be Dr. Deborah Sambucci. She received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Rutgers University. She earned her D.O. from UMDNJ School of Osteopathic Medicine, where she continued her training as Internal Medicine Resident. Dr. Sambucci has completed fellowships in both Critical Care and Cardiology and was Chief Cardiology Fellow. She is currently in practice with The Heart House Cardiology Group in South Jersey. She will be addressing a subject important to us all. Hopefully, some of those reading this will choose to come out for the talk. You can never have too much knowledge on the topic. Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting. Some may even be heart healthy. The Evening Membership Department of the Haddon Fortnightly will be having their annual Luncheon and Fashion Show on Saturday, March 3, 2012. The affair will be held at Tavistock Country Club, beginning at 11:30. It is an event that starts spring off on a high note. Beside a delicious lunch, there will be a palate of color and fashion presented by Coldwater Creek. Tickets are still only $35. You can get your ticket by calling Debbe at 856-428-0053. It will be a fun afternoon for you and your friends. Part of your ticket cost will go to the club’s philanthropic projects. This year Gilda’s Club, a group for people touched by cancer, is the main project. The Haddon Fortnightly cordially invites you to their annual Home and Garden Tour, Friday, May 4, 2012 from 10am to 8pm. The tour will feature beautiful homes and gardens in historic Haddonfield. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the tour and may be purchased at the Visitors Center in Haddonfield. Luncheon, $12, will be served at the Haddon Fortnightly Building located at Kings Highway and Grove St. in Haddonfield. Geraniums will also be for sale. This is a joint venture of the Juniors, the EMD, and the General Club. All proceeds benefit the preservation of the historic Haddon Fortnightly Building. For information call 856-858-1199.
