The Haddon Fortnightly is a civic and social club for women and is a member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs. The Fortnightly was organized in 1894 by a group of twelve women who felt a lack of cultural opportunities in this area and decided to establish in Haddonfield a "center for promotion of educational, literary and social interests in the community." From that small beginning the Haddon Fortnightly has become an organization well known and respected throughout the State of New Jersey.

Today, as in past years, the Haddon Fortnightly members enjoy great friendships while they participate in a host of activities and special interest groups. Most importantly, the club raises money for charities and has a wonderful time doing it. The members work diligently on a variety of projects and make a meaningful contribution to our community.

The Haddon Fortnightly is proud to have served its community for 110 years and warmly welcomes new members. For information regarding the three divisions of the Haddon Fortnightly please call 856-428-9040.

Our beautiful clubhouse was built in 1857 by the Methodists, and served as their place of worship for 54 years. It is located on the corner of Grove Street and Kings Highway East in Haddonfield. In 1922, the building, now minus its steeple, was purchased by the Civic Association for town meetings. The Haddon Fortnightly bought the building in 1931. The clubhouse provides a unique and gracious meeting place for members and has been maintained with great care. In 1973 it was placed on both the New Jersey and National Register of Historic Places. The clubhouse provides a historic and elegant setting for weddings and special events. For more information regarding rental of the Haddon Fortnightly building, please call 856-428-9040.
